Plain-language summary
Inspect the evidence. Keep the source attached.
Use Meta Museum to discover, compare, and organize cultural-heritage information. Do not treat a generated connection, incomplete record, or research aid as authentication, legal advice, title verification, or a museum endorsement. Source institutions control their own records and media rights.
01
The service
Meta Museum connects public museum records, source URLs, research notes, and editorial interpretation. It is a review-first research surface, not an authoritative collection database. Provider records may be incomplete, revised, unavailable, or inconsistent with one another.
Public browsing does not require an account. Features may link to external museum sites and services governed by their own terms and privacy practices.
02
Digital research kit and free tools
The free provenance checklist and optional email course are research aids. They do not create a professional-services relationship and do not include authentication, appraisal, ownership determination, legal advice, or a promised result.
A purchaser may copy and adapt the blank Provenance Research Kit templates for internal research and client work. The kit may not be resold or redistributed as a standalone template product. It contains no artwork images or third-party licenses.
AI-assisted and editorial outputs must cite source-backed evidence or state their limits. Publication workflows require human review, citation coverage, and rights checks. Uncertain records remain review material, not final authority.
03
Payments, delivery, and refunds
After Stripe verifies a one-time USD 29 research-kit payment, the purchaser receives an immediate download of one versioned Markdown workbook. No account is required.
Sun & Rain Works offers a full refund upon request within 14 days of purchase, including for a duplicate charge, failed delivery, or a product materially different from its description. Request delivery help or a refund.
04
Your responsibilities
- Verify important claims against the linked source record and, when necessary, with the source institution.
- Respect applicable laws, contractual duties, access controls, attribution requirements, and image or data licenses.
- Do not use the service to misrepresent provenance, authorship, ownership, rights status, scholarly consensus, or institutional endorsement.
- Do not disrupt, probe, scrape, or automate the service in a way that harms availability, security, providers, or other visitors.
05
Source institutions and third-party rights
Museum names, records, images, quotations, and linked resources remain governed by their owners, source institutions, and stated licenses. A public-domain metadata label does not automatically establish that every associated image is reusable.
Preserve attribution and the source link. Review each record’s rights statement before reuse. Meta Museum’s editorial arrangement and original software do not transfer rights in third-party material. Inspect the source network and reuse guidance.
06
Service availability and changes
The service is provided on an as-available basis. Source APIs, images, links, and experimental features can change or fail without notice. Meta Museum may correct, remove, suspend, or revise a feature or record when evidence, rights, safety, or provider requirements call for it.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Sun & Rain Works does not promise uninterrupted access, error-free data, research outcomes, traffic, revenue, or fitness for a particular professional decision.
07
Contact and corrections
Questions about these terms, a purchase, or a correction can be sent through the public contact path. Include the relevant Meta Museum URL and source record when reporting a data or rights concern.
